As you publish your contact information within your .tel, you may wish to keep certain data private. For example, you may want your home phone number or your private email address accessible only to those people you trust.
There are two key parts to managing your private data:
Make your data private. This is done by simply selecting "private" when you add
or edit
any contact information from your .tel control panel. Please see pages 22-29 of The Guide to .tel to the right.
Authorize people to see your private data. Before anyone can see your private data,
they must: (i) sign up for a free account at TelFriends,
(ii) send you a "friend request",
and (iii) you must accept them as a friend. Please see the TelFriends Guide to the right for details.
